英語寫作大賽由中國外文局CATTI項目管理中心、中國外文界主辦，大賽旨在為更好推動中華文化走出去，鼓勵用外語講述中國故事，通過賽事選拔更多優(yōu)秀人才，全面提升當代大學(xué)生等各類群體的英語寫作能力和素養(yǎng)，培養(yǎng)和發(fā)現(xiàn)優(yōu)秀的英語寫作人才，向世界闡釋推介更多具有中國特色、體現(xiàn)中國精神、蘊藏中國智慧的優(yōu)秀文化。

Work Hard in Our Prime Time
The year 2022 marks not only the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Youth League but also a historic moment in history. The past 100 years have seen generations of young people grown up on this land. “An army may be deprived of its commanding officer, yet a man cannot be deprived of his will.” A person’s ambition often determines how far he can go, what achievements he can make, and how much responsibility he can take. People with ambitions have clear goals and strive to achieve their objectives. A review of our nation’s history shows that China has transited from a poor and backward society to a moderately prosperous one in all respects. It is the result of the endeavors of young people who devoted themselves to the places where they were needed without asking for any return.
Young people shall take the lead in building the country with high aspirations. Despite the difficulties and challenges in the past 100-year journey when pursuing our dreams, Chinese people always believe that “small problems can develop into big troubles” and “we must seek our dreams though the journey ahead is long.” We must always hold fast to our dreams as a “beacon”. In this promising new era, we shall trek through all the difficulties and obstacles with a brave heart, and at the same time have the ambition of building a strong country and shoulder the responsibilities of the times. With arduous tasks to temper our “iron shoulders” and the commitment to straightening our “hard spine”, we shall write a passionate chapter of youth.
Young people shall take the lead in building our country by studying in practice. In the past one hundred years, we have always sought truth through exploration and stayed true to our original aspirations through practice. Confucius rightly said, “Learning without thinking leads to confusion; thinking without learning ends in danger.” As a young generation, we need to make full use of the Internet and acquire a wide range of knowledge to seek the truth. We must be modest at any time, go deep into the roots, immerse ourselves among the people, and integrate theories with facts and practices. As the saying goes, “Two heads are always better than one.” We should genuinely focus on studying and thinking, apply what we have learned, take up the baton of youth, become socialist successors with excellent quality and professional excellence, and draw a magnificent picture of a posture in seeking knowledge.
Young people, the centenary ushers in the prime of life, shall be pioneers in building a strong country with unremitting efforts. We have always adhered to the development philosophy of overcoming difficulties and marching forward bravely in spite of numerous challenges. President Xi Jinping said that “working hard is the brightest color of youth, and taking actions is the best trial for young people.”.Before embarking on the journey, young people must take the attitude of a fighter, roll up their sleeves, and work hard. We should have the tenacity and down-to-earth drive to make contributions for a long time and the courage to carry the day and handle tough issues, open up new roads and build bridges in the face of difficulties.
Standing on a new journey, let’s ride the wind and waves and write a new chapter with our youth.
